Departures

The word, Departure, conjures up multiple images - of packing, of impending arrival, of leaving a world behind, mixed feelings of the traveller herself who is already changed because she is crossing ‘worlds’. There is another way in which we use the word 'departures' - of making big shifts in thinking, habit, lifestyle, work. Often we make these 'departures' without realizing we are ourselves transforming.

The artists who came together to make this show explored the term through images, moments in history, sound, and object. This show was commissioned by LIFT - London International Festival of Theatre.
